Technically the first non-human additions to the farm are our family pets. Roxy is doing her Gargoyle Pose on the left and Vala gives us a good look at her over-sized tongue on the right. Roxy is actually our Granddogger as she belongs to our youngest daughter Brooke. But she spends most of her time with us. She is a brown/brindle Am-Staff. Vala was rescued from a local shelter and is a solid black German Sheppard.
Of course we can't leave out Lucy our house cat. She really likes the woodstove when it has a nice hot fire going, especially after she's had her breakfast.
Our first "working" animals. 25 Buff Orpingtons. Doni chose these because of their versatile nature and hardiness. So far they are doing amazingly well.
